March 2015 Minutes

Old business:
  • Dinner
    • 102 people attended
    • Everything went really well. Thank you to all those who helped.
    • Spent $1422.85
    • Income: $1290.00
    • Net Loss of $132.85
  • Distance markers for inside the club house
    • Ev Grower made a motion to purchase the distance markers seconded by Rene Baldwin
    • Yardage markers for $139.10 through Promotional Innovations.
  • Key’s
    • Keys are ordered and will be here next week.
    • Jessica Tressler was reimbursed $427.76 for the purchase of keys. 
  • Atv’s
    • The WCO for our county has notified us about the ATV’s and will be patrolling are area for the ATV’s
  • A motion was made by Chris Walter to reimburse Rene Baldwin $78.24 for picture materials seconded by Shawn Cox.
  • A motion was made by Ev Grower to hang pictures on the wall seconded by Chris Walters: Passed
  • Dick Logan volunteered to take care of the lights that are out in the club house.
    • Linda Watcher made a motion to buy four lights seconded by Terry D’Amico: Passed
  • Discussion was held about displaying the club roster.
  • Filters for the air system and a first aid kit were purchased. A motion was made by Ev Grower to pay Fastenal $154.62 and seconded by Shawn Cox: Passed
  • Turkey Shoots
    • April 1-22 Wednesday’s at 7pm

New Business:

  • Sound System
    • We have two wireless microphones donated
    • We need an audio system to make our sound system complete with an estimate of about $250.
    • Linda Watcher made a motion to purchase the audio system seconded by Dick Logan: Passed.
    • Shawn Cox will handle purchasing and setting up the system.
  • Camera System
    • An upgrade of the current camera system is wanted.
    • An estimate of $1223.93 to install eight cameras, wiring, and the system.
    • Linda Watcher made a motion to purchase, and not to exceed $1500, the camera system seconded by Terry D’Amico: Passed
  • Hunter Safety
    • Ev Grower made a motion to allow access to our club to the game commotion for hunter safety seconded by Anthony Belczyk: Passed
  • Beaver County Conservation League
    • An invitation to the League to come to our club to explain what they stand for was extended.
  • Director Position
    • Rene Baldwin resigned
    • A motion made by Wayne Hochar and seconded by Shawn to accept Rene’s resignation: Passed
    • The Director position will be placed on hold until the election committee has time to meet.

Building Committee Report:
        A switch for the gate was installed and is located in the kitchen
        Cameras are ordered and hopefully will be installed next week.

Old business:

 

  • Keys
    • They are here and will be put into service this meeting
    • Keys were given to the Koppel Fire Department
  • Turkey Shoots
    • $1,321.99 total profit
    • Everyone who came really enjoyed them.
  • Sound system
    • Shawn Cox was reimbursed $259.31 for the sound system.
    • The system is in and running
  • Distance markers
    • They are put up and look great
  • Funeral flowers
    • Bud Sheeler will be handling this.
    • Please contact him if someone from the club passes
  • Audit
    • 2010 is almost complete.




New Business:


  • Clifford Hunt made a motion to reimburse Jessica Tressler $26.33 for cups and spoons seconded by Wayne Hochar: Passed
  • Dick Logan was reimbursed $54.48 for light fixtures.
  • Koppel Big Beaver Fire Department and Big Beaver Fire Department sent thank you notes for receiving the donation we gave.
  • Beaver County Sportsmen’s Conservation League
    • Tony Rich, President and Rich Kerlin, Vice President is here to explain the League.
    • May 2nd Youth Fishing Day
    • Ev Grower made a motion to rejoin the Beaver County Sportsmen’s League for the $250 tier.  Seconded by Bud Sheeler: Passed.
  • WCO Mike Yeck
    • WCO Yeck addressed the ATV issues we are having.
  • Director
    • The nominating committee has two recommendations: Shawn Cox and Walt Kazenski
    • Mike Dachko made motion to nominate Walt Kazenski seconded by Carl Taylor : Passed
    • Jimmy Skoczylas made a motion to nominate Shawn Cox seconded by Wayne Hochar: passed
    • A vote was taken and Walt Kazenski won the majority of the votes.

Old business:
  • Cameras
    • Are in hand and will be put up soon.
  • Gate
    • Discussion was held about placing an opener on the second gate.
    • Shawn Cox made a motion to put an opener on the second gate with a maximum of $1,000 Second Mike Dachko: passed.
  • Furnace
  • The officers discussed and brought to the club the idea of purchasing a new furnace. Estimates will be brought back to the members.
  • Digging
    • The officers discussed some ditches that need dug such as a culvert and conduit. An estimate will be brought back to the club.
  • Fence
    • The fence was redone outside the club by the patio.
  • Audit
    • The audit will be placed on hold due to the chairman stepping down because of illness.
    • We must get these done, volunteers are needed for this.
  • Beaver County Conservation Sportsmen’s League
    • The nominating committee suggested Shawn Cox and Ev Gower for Delegate and Alternate Delegate.
    • Skip Veiock Nominated Shawn Cox seconded by Mike Dachko. Shawn accepted.
    • Wayne Hochar closed the nominations and Skip Veiock seconded it. Passed
    • Secretary cast ballot.
    • Mike Dachko made a motion to have Jerry Tillia as a temporary alternate delegate seconded by Ev Gower.
    • Skip Veiock made a motion to close nominations seconded by Ev Gower. Passed
    • Secretary cast ballot. Passed

New Business:

  • Wayne Hochar made a motion to reimburse Jerry Tillia $4.22 for keys, manual keys, made for the kitchen seconded by Skip Veiock. Passed.
    • A key will be given to the rifle team.
  • Big Knob Fair
    • Discussion was held about having a table at the fair. Will be placed on hold until next meeting.
  • Keys
    • There will be hard keys made for the outside doors.

KBBSA Scholorship



Scholarship Award

KBBSA is giving away a scholarship to a student who will be attending a posts secondary school this coming fall! If you have any questions please feel free to email: kbbsa1@gmail.com

Purpose:
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors who will be attending post secondary education.  This award is intended to build and foster learning. 
Scholarships are based on good character, community service and academic stability.

Award:
Students will be awarded $500.00 per year towards tuition as long as they are enrolled in the institution of Post Secondary Learning in which they were accepted.

Maximum Award per individual $2000.00

Student must provide proof of grades in June of each year to be eligible for the following year’s award.  Student must maintain a grade point average of 2.8 to receive yearly award.

Scholarship funds will be issued directly to the recipients Post Secondary Institution.
